Okay, my first piece: this is something i wrote while I was angry at something (you can probably tell that from reading it lol)...once I find a good tune, I'll turn it into a song...(if you've got an original tune that you think would fit it, I'd love to hear from you). It is an anti-war song, and if it ever gets anywhere I'd like to dedicate it to all those who have suffered from the actions of people whose irresponsible hands hold the reigns of power.

Despair (working title)

You brainwashed us with honeyed lies
Till you had power and we were bound
Incarcerated those who saw the truth
Before they could make a sound

You sowed the seeds of hatred
And reaped the crop of war
You blamed all wrongs on God and Fate
And acted under 'right' and 'law'

You took away our innocence
And drowned it in our blood
You sent us off to die for you
Neck deep in foreign mud

You ripped our daily lives to shreds
Damnation in the name of peace
Tore us from the homes we knew
Killed us for fake democracy

'The Foulest of People' (Working Title)

Chorus:
We need a revolution
We need a change of system
No cause for celebration

10,000 years
with different governing bodies
billions of lifetimes
and we call this democracy?

We have freedom of choice
yet our choices are made
by people who only care
for power and trade

The cleansing fires of change
must be brought to reality
to uplift this oppression
and end this anarchy

mindless conformist consumers
clinging to routine lifestyles

crushed by it's own weight
fuelled by rampant desires
racism, unfairness, hate

dear rulers if you do

The pent-up frustration

A volcano of chaos
Behind the calm demeanour
Shown to the world

The silent screams
The blood, the pain
The steel against flesh
Anything to prevent
The turmoil and confusion
And the pain deeper than any blade can cut

Noone understands
The devstation
Emptiness and loneliness
The agony
And helplessness
Of not being understood
Tears shed in the safety of darkness
The pounding blood in ears

Yet by morning
The tears have dried
The wounds have scarred
The mask of contentment replaced
And noone questions
Why on a summer's day
You were a long-sleeved shirt to school
