Just out of curiosity, how have I criticized you? I've been nothing but fair with letting you support your "opinions" along with those that have opposite opinions of you. Where the Amy bashing is running rampant in every thread, that is something we're trying to narrow down hence the reason for this forum in the first place. But that doesn't go just for those who dislilke Amy, it also goes for those who keep bringing up the fight in those same threads. Like you. And you keep saying you're not going to argue anymore, yet here you are, still doing it.

Also, you have no idea how I might feel about Amy - it's pretty presumptuous and judgmental to just assume that I hate her just because I'm trying to make it fair for EVERYBODY. Amy lovers aren't the only one that get to express their opinion here.

And if you don't like it, then you should definitely leave.

I'm going to try and break this down for you as nicely as I can.

No, you never explicitly said that OMG YOU ALL HAVE TO FOLLOW MY VIEWS OR YOU SUCK AT LIFE but that is how you're acting. Surely you can't be thick enough not to realize that [and I'm not calling you stupid, by the way - I'm trying to call you smart]. The second someone, and I've seen it happen by the way, opens their mouth to offer a well-spoken opinion [read: not snapping, not ranting] that might be opposite yours you flip into and apoplectic fit and starting raving about how WE ALL HATE THE BAND and WE'RE NOT GOOD EV FANS because we don't like the state of the "band" [and I, of course, use the term loosely] as it stands right now. And I'm here to remind you that we don't have to to enjoy the music.

And I'm also here to remind you that I've basically said exactly the same thing to a few different people exactly like you and that was probably the nicest way I've ever said it. Take that as a bit of mercy on my part.

.:sigh:. Out of the two major Evanescence forums on the Web [i.e. us and EvThreads], this one is the most opinionated of the two. And I am saying this with the best of intentions, really, but if you don't like the fact that the people here have different views than yours then you can go to EvThreads. No one will disagree with you there.

Here's the problem....

You have the lovers and the haters.

Each side tries to defend their point of view and make the other person 'see the light' which, in turn, just escalates the issue and makes people defend their side more.

In all honestly, none of us have the right to judge her, except for the people who know her personally or have had personal dealings with her.

People have started to 'hate' her because they think it's the cool thing to do. It seems to me that some people are even embarrassed to admit they still even like Evanescence - which I think it a shame and makes me a sad panda.

Am I happy with some of the decisions that Amy has made and the ever rotating band members? No.

Do I still love Evanescence's music? Yes.

Does this mean I have to love absolutely every song, performance, or anything and everything associated with the music? No.

What goes on behind the scenes shouldn't affect anyone's view of the music. You love it, fine. You hate it, fine. But don't base your opinions on behind the scenes drama that none of us should be involved in. If we knew everything that went on behind the scenes with every band, we'd never listen to ANY music.

Now, I'm not saying that 'omg you have to love everything' but base you opinions on how you feel, not how you think you should feel. If you feel a show you saw sucked, then say it - but because you really think it sucked, not because everyone else around you said it did.

Some of the name calling has become a bit juvenile. If someone who's like 5'5 and 125lbs - 135lbs or so is considered fat now a days, then the world has major issues. In turn, you're also insulting every woman who is the same weight or heavier. And we wonder why girls are anorexic & bulimic these days. Any time a healthy looking celebrity type comes along, they get torn apart for being fat, when in reality - they're a far cry from it.

I agree with EVERYTHING you just said Tracie. I don't think I could have said it better myself.

My views are that I support EVERYBODY involved. past/present/future band members. I have not been personally affected by the decisions that Amy or any of the other bandmembers has made behind the scenes. I met Amy in Denver and she was cool. We talked for a bit, and had a decent conversation. I didn't get to see the DIVA side. Altho i'm sure that it is there, I didn't witness it, so therefore it doesn't really give me the justification to judge her for something I've never witnessed. No one really has the right to judge her or the guys unless they are them or have had personal dealings with them behind the scenes. All I really care about is the stage performance and the music. Yeah she has had a few bad shows from what I've heard. But I will base my opinion on how she is when I see her live next month.

So this thread can go on and on about who loves/hates Amy-Evanescence. It's like beating a dead horse to death. It won't get you anywhere aruging over a mute point. It's about the music, not about the person.

yes i agree with the last couple of posts and im sorry if i caused so many problems for everyone please delete my posts if their still causing drama.

I dont mean to be annoying i am just a very determined person and when i saw some of those posts i just snapped and before i know it ive already insulted others.

like ive said before im not on here to argue for amy i just wish there wasnt so much negativity but it is something that does make this board different and unique.

I apologise to everyone that felt personally attacked but i had to get a few of my opinions out there like everyone does.

The key isn't in what you say, but how you say it. I think that if maybe you had just worded things better, you would have gotten quite a different response from others.
