okie dokie as we all know the original kiwi thread has kinda gone off topic...so i decided to make a new thread for the ppl who live in new zealand to talk about issues that are affecting us kiwis. btw other kiwis im trying not to be a bitch as much as possible but u gotta admit 300 pages is waaaaaaay to long lol. if we try to bring anything up it gets lost in the postwhoring. I love u all lol plz dont be offended.

Hey Suz,

I'm with you here (and you already knew that, lol). I'm completely lost in the NZ thread right now so I pretty much don't post in there. Umm anyway, I think this is a good idea. Sometimes, you know, we need to discuss NZ stuff, what's on TV and going on round the place...hehe...yeah, hope this doesn't offend anyone, coz we all love you!

Here let me start....gonna watch the rugby tonight? New Zealand vs England (whose asses we kicked last weekend

)...too bad its just a test match

We're winning 17 - 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am writing my debate, that we are losing our kiwi culture. We are affirming and I am talking about the Maori side of things, anyone have any ideas?

I LOVE THIS THREAD!
Us kiwis have to stick together!

lolo i got an idea but nothin to do with maoris on the radio theres these 2 really anoying ppl and they say some words with an american accent its so tryhardish lol. hmmm maoris......lol well they try to act american with hip hop and stuff lol idk i tried lol

Erm, I can't reeeeaallly help you with your debate thing. I know about breaches of the Treaty that have to do with Health. Um. I guess you could say something about, how because Maori are now a minority group (in terms of ethnicity), a lot feel them feel they have to conform to Western society, and therefore as a side effect, lose their own culture.

But it also depends on how you define 'kiwi culture.' I think there's alot of aspects of both Western and Maori culture that have been combined to give us our special one-of-a-kind kiwi culture...but that's probably more an argument for the negative side...

Of course, I'm neither a debater or a specialist in cultures and sociology, so this could all be wrong...
