Could somebody give me an answer to what that noise in the beginning of the Fallen version of the song, it sounds like a train when it takes off, sounds like steam going...i don't know, you decide..

It's not an actual recording of anything, it's just sounds they created in the studio.

To me it sounds more like wind blowing or something. I think it's just something they did in the studio and thought it sounded cool so they kept it. Or the producer found it and wanted to put it in. Dunno really, but that's usually how it goes.

Actually, so often if the artist says the wrong thing on the recording but it sounds better, the studio guys won't record it again. I just blasted my music, she says "me" unless I'm crazy, which I'm fairly sure I'm not, it doesn't sound anything like an "our" to me, however, I'll admit the official lyrics do say "our salvation. If they did sing the wrong thing in studio, they would still put the official lyrics in the piano-guitar books, because that's what the band copywrited. I'm not saying for sure that I'm right [and someone else probably already said this or proved me wrong on the third page becuase I didn't read it. >>;] but that's what I heard...

On the live versions she most definitely says "return to our salvation" both times. In the Fallen studio version the first one is hard to distinguish at the volume I'm comfortable with. But the second is almost definitely "our" as well.

I also thought it had been "my" instead of our! oO I have the first version of Fallen (without the band version of My Immortal) and listened carefully. It really is "our", easily to be mistaken with "my", if you ask me..
Just love the song; probably my fav Ev song..

Does anybody play it on the piano?

I think it does sound like a steam engine starting up. It also sounds like wind going through a tunnel. Then of course it’s the bass line and then the piano.

You could be right but I still think its “our” twice.

It sounds like Amy sings “me” and then “our” in the live versions. On the “Fallen” versions I still think it’s “our” but I guess we’re not really supposed to know what she says.

I think it’s “I want to die!” also but in the demo versions it’s “I long to die!” because it’s from “Romeo and Juliet.” In the live versions you can hear the “Fallen” version clearly though. It’s “I want to die!”

I was surprised when I read it was "I long to die" which was only recently when I found out.

Anyway, i absolutely love this song. It's one of my favourites on Fallen. I listen to it whenever I'm feeling really low.

One of the best on the album IMO.

I believe it's "I want to die!" also. Because of the double "T" noise you hear. There is no "T" in "long" and other people can't seem to understand that. So I agree with all of you who think it's "I want to die!"
