Edit: I'm bored, so I've been playing with this thing incessantly, speeding it up, slowing it down, and reversing it. It is definately not backwards in the Open Door clip. Just sped up and distorted in some other way, somehow. I'll play with the pitch.

It always reminds me of like a paranormal movie where they are trying to decipher something thats scrambled. Maybe like the movie the arrival or maybe even independence day. But yea paranormal or hidden stuff like that kind gets me excited/scares me.

Only Evanescence themselves will know what it is at this point though :/

I've been at this for a couple hours now, and let me just say - I've never been so disappointed and empty-handed. I'll tell you what I have run across a lot though... I've found a lot of old reference stuff to people asking questions about whether there were any funky things like this on the Fallen album (i.e. if there was meaning or purpose behind something strange)...

And I got a lot of Amy/Ben responses saying, "Umm, yeah, that was an accident, but we thought it sounded cool so we left it in," "Yeah I accidentally did that the one day and it just wound up getting stuck in there like that" "Um, I've never heard that before at all, I don't know what you're hearing" "Oh yeah, that's nothing"... etc. -.-

I mean the more of that stuff I'm finding the more disheartened I'm getting that this is just going to wind up being a wild goose chase. ::Sighs and continues to search:: Stupid pirate -.-

EDIT: Oh yeah, I've also found a lot of duck quizzes. And rubber duck quizzes. And a lot of pirate references (which is weird because I haven't searched for anything pertaining to pirates at all). Just thought I'd share.

It's a possibility, but I doubt it. If you listen carefully, you can hear the accordian (or whatever that thing is) make 3 seperated notes, just at the same time as the duck. I think the duck was meant to be there, because it would sound awkward sans-duck. (I mean, the random notes with nothing else....?)
