I don't think that was really Amy's opera voice, I think she was messing around and being silly. Come on, people you never pretend you are in an opera and start belting up to notes that you have no business being up there with?

But that song did sound pretty good.

It looks like a German-like song, with accordions and stuff, and the duck...I think it is an evil laugh...not sure of that ^^

Gnihihi, are you kidding?
I am German and I have no idea about how the accordion part could sound german. ^^

So my argument stands. Muahahaha!

Plus, I mean, the whole album is dark and that song in particular starts out sounding mysterious. A duck does not fit in at all. I think that since they were trying to go for a darker, moodier sound, they wouldn't include a random duck in the beginning of a serious song, IMO.

And I'm completely certain it's a duck, not a laugh. Unless the duck is laughing.

No, they played the actual CD as well (an EXCLUSIVE!). It was mentioned... a lot in the London thread.

Dhamma ftw.

p.s. I think it would've been really funny if everyone started singing along to the "world exclusive" play of the songs.

Oh okay then. :uts pedestal of I'm-right-and-you're-wrong away::

And I do, too. But they must know by now that it's been leaked.

So, a duck. QUACK! wtf?

I could go out on a limb and BS the same way I BS my English papers by saying that the randomness of the duck symbolizes how strange and different every one thinks they are. Until they discover that they're not "the only one" who is different. Different in the sense that they are like Pepito and fuck ducks.

Oh, I feel the need to tell a story. One time my friends and I were playing around, and because one of my friends really likes rubber ducks, we decided to call 1-800-DUCK (or something like that, I can't remember the exact number), not expecting anything but hoping that maybe, just maybe, whoever answered would have something to do with ducks. Because that would be funny. Unfortunately, we forgot that on a phone, "D" is the same key as "F"....

As I'm sure you're all aware, prostitutes have nothing to do with ducks.

Not necessarily true, but it *will* cost you extra.

Maybe I need to watch Snow White (the movie) again. But it sounds to me like when Snow White is singing and the haggard old witch is lurking outside of the cottage cackling.

Maybe that's not it at all, and maybe I just made that up, but that's what I think of when I hear it.
