Plus, I mean, the whole album is dark and that song in particular starts out sounding mysterious. A duck does not fit in at all. I think that since they were trying to go for a darker, moodier sound, they wouldn't include a random duck in the beginning of a serious song, IMO.

And I'm completely certain it's a duck, not a laugh. Unless the duck is laughing.

What if it is a duck and she's implying that some of us sit around like "sitting ducks" awaiting someone to come take the lead?

Me and my friend spent 3 hrs lastnight searching the net heh and found some lyrics that sound kinda what she sounds like shes saying, also we could swear it is an evil laugh from some horror movie possibly, or she could be messing around in the studio, it sounds like a carnival tune gone array and scarry heh.
