That's right, This Competition has pitted, Awesome Voices with proper recording Equiptment verses Awesome Voice with A Plug in Mic and Audacity.
And It's really hard to hear through these. I agree!! Also the previous two weeks we had 20+ entrants and some of them may have gotten lost in the numbers. Nothing we can do now though, But maybe we could think of these things in the future contests..

Well, 13 tracks these week, that makes the work a lot easier, now I can review the tracks one by one...

Track 1:You have a sweet voice, but you sang it too slow and too low. I love that song.

Track 2:One can guess you have a good voice, but it is waaay to low for one to say it for sure. A little bit pitchy, but good. People, normalize and amplify a many times as necessary please!

Track 3:A little bit pitchy, different from what I've heard before. Your voice would be good for country. As a sidenote, there were some technical problems with the song.

Track 4:Cool song. You can reach high high notes!! but it lacks feeling and "flow" and you were off in some notes..

Track 5:Cool voice! It reminds me of Cristina Scabbia from LC. Not identical, but reminds me. Well trained your voice.

Track 6:You have a goo pop voice, too much from your nose maybe, and the eternal problem of the track and voice too low. Yes, the song is boring.

Track 7:Sort of flat, but is very good!! very cool j-pop voice!!! (are you from Japan?)

Track 8:I liked you voice a lot. And it sounds very EMO.

Track 9:The fact that you did the two voices is great. A little bit out of sync sometime, a little bit too much from the nose, good country voice.

Track 10:I couldn't hear it!!! I tried a lot and I couldn't. If I lget to listen to your song, I'll tell you.

Track 11:I liked your voice, but hated the song. Shaky at times, high notes sounded somewhat forced (the talked part ROTFL!!!), but I liked it.

Track 12:Very, very good, and cool voices. Very enjoyable to listen.

Track 13:The only a capella song. Good voice, lots of vibrato sometimes, a little bit of an accent, I think.

I won't vote because I didn't get to listen to number 10 (what happens with number 10?). Guys need to be more daring and participate more!!!

Yes, here is the problem that there is no good equipment for everybody, and people may not get votes because of that...

Again, please, no one get offended.

Track #1 - I like the harmonies. Overall, though your voice is good, your song didn't "wow" me.

Track #2 - Your voice is way too low in the beginning. I think the echos and music kind of drown out your voice so that I can't make a clear judgement on it.

Track #3 - I think you did a great job.

Track #4 - Nice voice and interesting selection, but it does nothing for me.

Track #5 - This is my favorite Evanescence song. I love love love your rendition.

Track #6 - I like the melody of this song. You have a nice voice, but again, this song just didn't grab me.

Track #7 - I like this I don't understand a damn word and there were a few parts where your voice was ehhh, but overall I thought it was nifty.

Track #8 - I applaud you for singing this song. And I think for a guy, you sang this song well.

Track #9 - Dammit. I like this one too. I love the backing vocals; they add a little unique touch to the song. I love your voice. I adore the way you sang the bridge in this song.

Track #10 - I do not think your voice fits this song, quite honestly. I don't know exactly what it is, but it just doesn't fit. Good effort, though.

Track #11 - You rule simply for your song selection. That was great.

Track #12 - I like this one too.

Track #13 - This was a very interesting spin on this song. I like it.

Bolded are my favorites, and yes I realize that this week I had more favorites than the previous weeks. Just makes it all the more harder to vote . . . but I think I am going to vote for Track #9.

On top of me loving your voice, I love that you changed the song up by using only a...I'm guessing a keyboard. I actually like it better than the original version. Actually, I was harmonzing (singing David's parts) with you, and it sounded awesome.

I thout numbers 5, 11, and 13 were awesome!!!!1 but i also recoghnized number five, so i voted for 11. i think its not fare that some people enter more than once it gives other people less of a chance. if u win once u should stay out, just my opinon.

My favorites were 1, 4, 11, 12, and 13. It came down to the last three, and I had a hell of a time deciding.

11. I've never heard this song before, but I thnk your voice far surpasses everyone else's this week. Some of the high notes were a little too high and forced, but I'm amazed at you range. And where is this song from? It sounds like it should be in a Disney movie...it's Part of Your World-esque to me. And I thought the talking parts were cute.

12. I really liked this, A LOT. Finally- a guy who doesn't sound unbearably nasally! The only thing that through me off was the female voice; it didn't mesh as well as it should have. But that's the only criticism I can make, and you did an awesome job.

13. I liked this too. You have an awesome voice, but I'm just not really a fan of a capella that much, and the microphone was a little off. I pictured someone singing at a real karaoke bar, with mediocre equipment. Really, it was the mike that caused the problems, though, because I think you did fantastic!

So, my vote goes to 11, but I feel guilty that I couldn't vote for 12, too.

I voted for Track #5...i guess it can't be avoided, but it bothers me that i recognize this voice. throws anonymity right out the window

It is true that the people with better recording equipment are going to enter a more professional sounding submission, and in the end that is what we are going to want to vote for.

However, some people don't have access to that kind of equipment, and it doesn't make them any less talented, though I do agree that better mics showcase vocal talent much more. Perhaps for the next contest, we could have one neutral person who is not in the contest, with better equipment, mix all the tracks so that they are more or less equal. I'm not sure how the mixing process works, but if that would help, maybe it could be considered.

The rules say that you can enter more than once, even if you win, and should you win twice, Dhamma allows the person with the second highest number of votes into the final week as well.
