oh and egg whites are amazing. if you are looking to eat that for breakfast and you cant stand the lack of taste compared to regular eggs, throw in some peppers or other veggies and make an omlet. soooo tasty. i had one of those for dinner last night at the dining hall.
yeah the eating plan sux for anyone that works or that is in school. I carried a cooler with me to work with chicken in it and salad and some smoothies. It worked. But it's a hassle at times. But if you want to lose the weight it works great.

This thread is a good idea. I think it's silly to attempt to lose any weight in November and December. The post-Halloween Pre-Christmas holiday season is no time to be getting on a scale. Remembering to taste a little of everything and not go overboard is a good idea, but trying to lose weight with the constant temptations this time of year is almost impossible.

Wait until after the new year, and make GETTING HEALTHIER the resolution. Not losing weight, but being in better overall shape. The skinniest people can still be unhealthy in terms of the crap they put into their bodies.

I agree with you but I've tried that every year. by the time New Years comes around I always decide I'm fine the way I am and the rest of the world is wrong. I need to put my foot down while I'm motivated. This extra ten pounds of post pregnancy weight has got to go!

Unless she's already weaned, I highly recommend breastfeeding a little longer than you planned, it's one of the best ways for the recently-preggo to burn calories.

Other than that, try taking your little one out in the stroller for a lot of walks (I see you're in Texas and don't have to worry about snow). It always put my little girl to sleep and gave me some of that rare peace and quiet

And as she gets older, try not to eat her leftovers or keep an over abundance of snack food around. Many moms gain their weight while the kids are toddlers, and the pantry is packed with pretzels and all other kinds of easy-accessible snacks.

Just remember, you ARE perfectly fine the way you are. It is admirable to try and get healthy and take off some extra pounds. In the long run it is better for you and your daughter. Don't let the image in the mirror determine who you are!

I know alot of the weight i've gained in the last few years is due to depo provera birth control and prednisone. I was told by one doctor that I should weight about 90 lbs for my height. I thought he was crazy. I figure my goal weight is about 115 or so. So I have about 90 lbs left to go. I've lost about 30 so far. I need to get on a good regimine. Get good sleep. Drink enough water. And get plenty of exercise. over eating isn't a big deal, I take in about 1200 calories or less a day. My metabolisim is slow, that's a big problem. Anyhow.

I Really really want to loose weight My goal is to be Pre-Pregnancy weight as in Pre -Chance... I always get so depressed when I look at my wedding pictures and all that and I was so much skinnier than now and then pictures where Chance was like 1 year old I'm twice the size I used to be!!! RRGG I know your not supposed to diet when your pregnant but I should start eating better and that's not a bad thing *slaps self for just having Arbys* As soon as this kid pops out...well fine a month or so after, I will join the rest of you in the vigorous dieting and exercise!

If you're on the Depo shot, you're going to have issues with weight loss. After I gave birth I was on it for a year. Not only did I keep the pregnancy weight, I also tacked on some unsightly pounds. Not to mention the other side effects. That shot did horrible things to my temper, I remember a week after the injection appoint (after I decided to quit) my whole mood changed and I was a happier easygoing person. Not knowing your circumstances, if there are other options available to you it may be in your best interests to look into them.

I did the birth control shot for about a year, and in that year, I gained 50 pounds. That was also the year I got hypothyroidism, which I know caused SOME of the weight gain, but not all of it. Depo also makes your hair fall out and your sex drive disappear (it's what they give to sex offenders to "chemically castrate" them).

This was important enough to emphasize with minimod red IMO, so call it an abuse of power or whatever.

My #1 advice? Don't listen to people who put you down. I was overweight when I was younger and my dad used to make fun of me constantly for being fat. Then he moved away and by the end of that summer I had lost 30 pounds. Coincidence? I think not.

Also, you have to watch that you don't put yourself down. You can't think "OMG I'm so fat and ugly, I've got to lose weight!" Becuase then you will be stressed, and stress makes you gain weight, and even if you do manage to lose weight in that mindset, you are setting yourself up for a lasting negative self image. It's better to look at it in an "I'm good but I could be better" mindset.

Ah, trust me to always look at things from a psychological point of view! Well, good luck to all of you!
