Blah so yesterday's checkup sucked ass. Once again I'm back to losing almost no weight at all. I only lost 200 grams (7.1 ounces) and nothing in centimeters/inches over the past 15 days. The doctor was happy that I lost at least something, but I'm incredibly disappointed. It actually looked like things were getting better after I lost about 3 pounds last time...
My fiancé lost another 6 or 7 pounds, and he basically felt sorry for me. He has told me though, that if this stricter diet doesn't work for me, I can just give up if I want. He'll stick to his because it works for him, and we'll just have to find some other way to get rid of my stubborn extra weight. It's not that he wants me to give up, it's that the doctor charges $60 per visit, and it's not like we have that kind of money to spare right now.

Anyway, the doctor's making an even stricter diet for me now, and she'll have it ready for me tomorrow. I also have to do a lot more exercise than I did before, and I hate exercise. Especially when it's no fun, like riding those stupid indoors exercise bikes. I prefer roller blading (it makes me lose weight incredibly fast) but I can't do that lately as it won't stop raining. *sigh*

Why can't weight loss be as easy as weight gain?

Aww it's okay! Your probally at a plateau (sp?). Don't give up. Just keep working at it. Your fiance' should encourage you to keep going.

I totally agree with you on the last thing you said.

Aww I'm so sorry Dawn. Don't give up on it though. It doesnt look like I'm getting anywhere with my own diet but I'm sticking to it anyway. I hope you find something that works for you. It's so good that your hubby's supportive too. Is there a skating rink near you? There's one in our mall. I hope your next doctor visit goes better.

I have no idea what a plateau is, but I'm guessing it's when you stop losing weight for a certain amount of time because your body's used to the diet or something? I don't know if it can happen as soon as it did to me though, I've only been on this diet for about a month and a half so far.
Tomorrow I get to pick up my revised menu + exercise schedule, so we'll see how that goes...

Seriously, weight loss should be as easy as weight gain. *grumbles*

There aren't any skating rinks here in Cancun, sadly. The only thing I can do is skate outdoors, but with all the recent rain I just can't. I seriously hate my exercise bike, but outdoors cycling is also off, as there aren't any cycle paths and people drive like maniacs here. I used to have a bicycle but was so terrified of actually using it that we ended up having to sell it. The best I can do for now is take long walks with my dog (and hope it doesn't rain while I'm out) and work out on that stupid bike, until the weather gets a little better.

I'm sorry your diet doesn't seem to be working either, ButterflyWishes. What kind of diet are you on?

Thanks for the support guys.

Really it's not much of a diet lol. I eat salad and fruits for snacks and try to eat healthy in general but I work out a LOT so I never really think about what I'm eating. It'd help if I had something to go on instead of saying "Well that looks healthy..." and if I cut down on the sodas. I'm getting better I just suck at consistency (sp?) Anyway, my mom lost 50 pounds on the quick weight loss program so go her and she told me a plateau (how do you spell that?) was when you're at a point in your diet where you're not gaining or loosing any wieght and they normally throw in something different to get you off of it. I'll ask her what they did tomorrow and let you know.

Ah, that's what I thought it meant.
Yeah, I'm getting a completely different diet this time, with even more meals than I eat now. I eat about 5 or 6 times a day at the moment, 3 "real" meals, and a few little healthy snacks inbetween. But my doctor's changing that to 7 "meals" a day, if not more.
My diet's really strict. I get to drink one can of diet soda a day, max. I can only eat tiny servings of things, and almost all vegetables are still banned from my menu, because of my IBS. I have to drink 2 liters of water a day (and I HATE water). No sugar, no fat, nothing high in calories, no milk (not that I like milk anyway)...And the list goes on and on. Urgh.

Yeah my mom had to eat like that a while ago and it was really hard on her but she made progress and after a while they let her go on a diet that was a lot less bland. Keep it up and lean on your husband! A supporting sholder can do wonders but I'm sure you know that :P.

Yup that's what plateau means. Oh and that's how you spell it hehe!

My diet is just cutting back on what I eat and instead of having the main meal at school, I either get a salad or a turkey sandwhich.
I'm having problems with junk food though because lately my mom has been making cookies. I had cookies at lunch yesterday and today we got cinnoman buns at school so ugg I don't know what to do about that because they taste so good!

I feel so bad! Last night I was supposed to do my work out and I didn't because my ankle was hurting.

I'm afraid that I'm just going to stop doing it like I normally do. Ugg. I'm going to make up for yesterday by doing it on Saturday instead though.

I always forget that I'm on a diet when I go shopping and I buy a lot of crap too. But I normally work out even if something hurts. Once I start working out the pain normally goes away soo keep at it! Don't give up!!
