Weight Loss Group ^_^

So, I've been wanting to lose weight for a while and I figured it would work a lot better if I had somebody that wanted to lose weight to team up and encourage each other. I hope you get what I'm saying.

So anybody up for the challenge with me?

We could share goals, report to each other how we are doing, and give work out tips and all that.

I'm joining in on this too. My goal is to lose somewhere around 10 pounds in a few months. I'm planning on taking up Pilates... as soon as a friend on mine gives me my DVD's! I've heard it's pretty effective, and it's easy on your muscles, joints and whatnot.

This is a good idea. We can use it as a place for others to find someone to buddy up with in their weight loss goals, as opposed to just advice, which is a good thing. I think that overall this thread will wind up being very encouraging.

I'll join in. Funnily enough I was planning on starting to workout again this week. (Actually today... lol) I lost a lot of weight working out a year ago, but then I hurt my knee and couldn't do any of it... so I got lazy and never went back to it.

I'm hoping to lose at least another 20-30lbs.

ill join too. i need someone to help keep me on track. i always end up setting up goals and stuff and then just letting them fall apart.

like this month i was supposed to work out and go to the gym and cut out a lot of junk food.... i only went to the gym once because i"didnt have time" with all the hw and crap.

so yeah, ill join in. my ultimate goal is to lose the weight ive gained since starting college and the weight i gained senior year so about 13 to 15 pounds.... -.- who gains 10 pounds their senior year of high school?! wtf is that.

This will work well for most if not all of you wanting to cut a few pounds.

1. Drink at least 100 oz of water per day.
2. Eat 5-6 small meals a day. Generally 3-4 hours apart. Consisting of 2-oz of protien and some good veggies. alternate the vegies with berries or pineapple every other meal. What I found worked well for me was making a "smoothie" with pasturized egg whites (once you get past the thought of the egg whites- it's not so bad) and berries. Using splenda instead of sugar to sweeten things up.
3. Cut out any added salt. You'd be amazed how much those few extra pounds you have are from retained water.
4. Also exercise. A 30 min walk works wonders when you can't get to the gym.

I've lost a lot of the preggo weight and the post preggo weight (let hellfire rain on the Depo shot, as SangReal explains in the weight link I gave) but at the moment I'm at a loss at what to do next. I'm technically the same size pants-wise as I was about a year before I got pregnant, BUT I'm chunky in different places (prime examples: my love handles look like they haven't changed at all this year, and that cursed area for a woman below her belly button). I could really use some help on which exercises I need to do to target my problem areas.

great tips but the 5-6 small meals could be a problem for some of us who are in college. though i could probably steal some fruit and food from the dining hall, i dont really have cash to go food shopping and get healthy foods to eat mini meals. though i am trying to stay away from fried food and eat healthy lunches. i eat veggies at lunch and dinner and i try to get more protein than carbs when i eat.

oh and egg whites are amazing. if you are looking to eat that for breakfast and you cant stand the lack of taste compared to regular eggs, throw in some peppers or other veggies and make an omlet. soooo tasty. i had one of those for dinner last night at the dining hall.
