Memory

In visions of the dark night,
I have woken to remember.
That I have heard the trill of a bird,
A bird that is my memory.

In naps under the lazy sun,
I have dreamt about the bird,
Which ate the helpless worm,
A worm that was my conscience.

And in the end, the bird flies away,
The sun rises & moon sets,
To which we learn one thing:
The memory gets the conscience
in the end.

Tears fall down, rain dropping,
I cry, for the rain.
Streams fall from cheeks,
Dropping, for the rain.
Clouds bursting, lightning shocking,
And I fall, for the rain.
Thunder booming, earth shaking,
And I die, for the rain.

Thanks both! To Codger, I've been writing since Summer of 2003, but these have been some of my latest ones. However, I was on a year-long hiatus, but thanks to other forces *ahem*, inspiration has been running fresh.

Crap, I just realized I reposted Molded. Time to edit! Also, most of the things I post are song lyrics. Molded & this one I'm going to post are song lyrics. The rest could be just poems or "interludes." (Don't ask)
