sorry for reviving this to those who are no longer interested. i was goign to start a "what's in your CD player now" thread but after a search this one seemed pretty close, and i'm not a shitstirrer and like to follow the rules, so! anyways....
right now: Texas Is The Reason - Back And To The Left i've been listening to this band for some time (the album Do You Know Who You Are is fantastic for those into REAL old school Emo and not the BS that get's passed as emo today). This song always makes me think of my brother and my closest friends...line at the end goes: "I'll always worry about you. And I'll always stick up for you". when i first heard the song and album in general i was in my first band and my guitarist/roommate showed it to me....something about the melody of the guitars, and sloppy drumming, and the content of the lyrics just made me feel, well, emotional, lol. i still get the same feeling every time i listen to the song. next in the queue: Far - Bury White another awesome band that's no longer around, i saw these guys live probably a dozen times between 1995 and 1998 or so. The lyrics of this song just speak to me..."To ressurect ourselves, we disembowel our saints, we never underestimate the destructive power of change. we're always searching for what's wrong...." another song that makes me just super emotional and makes me want to rock out till the headphones come unplugged. good good stuff.... glad i found this thread...i feel good right now. |

Right now I'm listening to Within Temptation. I read that a lot of people here liked them in an earlier thread. Now I'm hooked on them as well. Same with After Forever. So thanks to all that posted that they liked them. I don't get introduced to new music like I used to.
Heh, the name After Forever kinda lends to my thread on Infinity. Maybe that's why I got to thinking about it last night. |

Alice in Chains- Nutshell
I love to listen to this song. Its one of their best. I love heavy music but this song is heavy in a different way. The lyrics, mixed with the haunting melody are what make this song heavy to me. Its not loud, it doesn't have anyone screaming, it just pure raw emotion pouring out of Jerry's acoustic guitar and Layne's voice .You can definetly tell what Layne must have been feeling when he wrote this song. |
