I am taking an Italian-American lit class and we just finished "The Fortunate Pilgrim" (Mario Puzo pre-Godfather) and was surprised at how much I liked it.
For fun though, I am reading (for at least the 20th time because the stories are so good) Pastoralia by George Saunders. So twisted and humorous at the same time. ![]()

Currently reading Anthem by Ayn Rand for my english class. Good book, makes you think. Even if I don't agree with some of the implied concepts..
On a more normal basis I read alot of fantasy books, some mystery and classics, etc. I used to read a LOT more than I do now, been putting it off in favor of other things lately...

I'm re-reading a book that I bought solely because of the cover.
Quietus by Vivian Schilling. Amazing book, I highly reccommend it to any reading enthusiast. If you like Anne Rice, chances are you'll like this book.

I'm rereading From A Buick 8 because I'm bored, I'm also reading through an anthology of Irish short stories. I really dug "The Brown Man" but I thought "The Limerick Gloves" was a tad lame.

I'm currently rereading a series called the 'Darkfall' series by Isobelle Carmody. You know when you find a book that you can reread countless times because you get more out of it each time? That's these books to me
The two books 'Darkfall' and 'Darksong' are fantasy based, but touch on things like meaningless music in contempory culture, the indifference of todays generation and the power of music. I reccommend these to anyone who enjoys the darker works and also those who read for escapism |
