To which a woman replied with a very bland comment of, "We just want our children back," after a very awkward pause. Then she asked him, "What would you do if you were in our shoes?" Like, in that way of, If we don't sound like we should, then what should we sound like? And AC said "I don't know." But it was very awkward watching these women talk to him during the interview, because it seemed like they were just... well awkward about it. There also wasn't very much emotion in their voices and it was very strange. I wanted to be empathetic with them, considering the circumstances, but you're right their mannerisms are just so strange.

now, add to this the systematic excommunication of the teenage boys so the men can have more than 3 wives, and enter the repeated claims of some of the former members that many of the girls are intentionally married off by arrangement, under threat of eternal damnation, at 13 and 14 so they will actually submit to sex with an older man and be taken before thay have a chance to be iinterested in boys. add to that, the only way to leave is at night, in seceret, in fear of your life, totally unprepared for the outside world and uncertainof your future, and you have the patteren ovf abuse that is pissing off so many, including the rest of the FLDS/ fundamentalist communities outside of the warren jeffs subgroup. after reading the many different websites about the FLDS, it is pretty clear to me that the underage marraige and some of the more extreme abuse was not present untill the last few years of rulon jeffs, when warren was helping his ailing father lead, then it escelated from isolated incedences to full force when warren jeffs took over. a LOT of the FLDS community ouside the texas compound, especially a lot that left the religion shortly after jeffs took over, as well as many in utah/arizona that never made the cut to go to the compound, belive that Warren Jeffs literally hijacked the religon for his own perverted purposes, and created the compound in el dorado as a way to "take thier crimes to a whole new level" this had the intnded effect of concentrating his most (brainwashed) and loyal folowers in one isolated place where he and other like minded individuals had TOTAL CONTROL over the lives of ther congregation. any wonder the women all look, talk, and act the same? they were intentionally programmed that way from birth so they could act as the loyal coughslavecough servants of the elite. thus my assertion in the first post: jeffs and crew were engaged in organised crime under the cover of religeon. why else would you intentionally set up a compund in the middle of nowhere, lock the gates to keep the women in as much as the cops out, and act like a radical cult more than a breakoff religon with nothing to hide? colorado city/hilldale are isolated and locked down enough as it is. the compound was as a different level entirely. *shakes head*

My husband just recently came home from working out of town and has requested that we take a second wife. Actually he informed me that he's been inspired to do this. Someone he met already. I have been through hell and back dealing with this. I love my husband and don't want to lose him but am having a hard time seeing him think about this other woman and knowing he longs to be with her. I know he loves me but I feel like "old news". I have always believed in polygamy and still don't disagree with it, but I expected it to be easier to actually "do". I have gone through a lot of wondering on whether I have let him down in some way, or not fulfilled some need. I have asked God to help me through this and I'm not still sure what will all come of it. Perhaps she will not agree, in a selfish way I hope she doesn't feel this is right for her and things can go back to the way they were. But should this all work out, I will not leave my husband and I will try to help make the union work in order to keep our children close to their father. I would rather share him than lose him altogether. On the religious sects that "act weird", they have been taught from birth not to trust the outside world. They rarely talk to "outsiders" even in passing. Many families practice polygamy that are not affiliated with any church or sect. That may be the way we go since I certainly don't believe Warren Jeffs is a righteous man. Although it would mean leaving the church we grew up in. Many things that are worth doing aren't easy. One of the good things that I can see coming of this is that my children will have the care of two moms. I work and go to school and there are times they really need more attention than I can provide alone. Wouldn't it be nice if there were another woman who could love and care for them in my absence? I believe if you can put aside your pride and selfishness, it's possible to live happily in polygamy.
