Heh. My mom calls most music I listen to (industrial and metal) "devil music". When I played Fallen for her a year ago, she really liked MI and recognized BMTL from the hit radio station she always listens to. I don't know what my dad thinks--he doesn't listen to much music.

But I got my sis into Ev. She went to a concert with me and listens to the copies of Origin and my mp3 collection I made for her all the time. My brother didn't go for them, but he only likes industrial or electronic music.

My parents could care less what I listen to. I mean, my sister listens to hardcore rap and punk and all that stuff, so my parents like to have songs like Imaginary or Hello on. They don't approve too much of me listening to Tourniquet though, but you know, I'm going to listen to it whether they want to to or not.

All in all, my parents do like Evanescence. If worse came to worse, they would take me to a concert (if one ever came to this part of the country).

You have the chance to in July I believe.

My mom thinks they are good she just doesnt like them loud..and i play them loud.My mom's boyfreind heard Ev like 50 times on his way to NY once and he fell in love with BMTL! So i played more songs for him and he LOVES the CD and loves the band! My dad likes them... my stepmom probly thinks im weird. lol.

Well my mom is always saying to me when I have my mp3 player "is that that evanescence again?" and my answer is always a yes. She hasn't really listened to fallen but She does think im a little obsessed and told me to cut back on it. On tuesday I'll give her Fallen and my old cd player to listen to at work.

Well my sister liked Evanescence first and one time she downloaded a Bring Me to Life live performance and my mom was pissed cuz she thought they were goth. Well she kinda forgot about that and then I became obsessed. My sis bought Fallen and I kinda well uhhh.....took it from her and listened to it all the time so my mom got pretty sick of it, but she still has a copy in her car and listens to it all the time. She doesn't really like Origin, but my dad is completely pitch deaf and he sings along with the beginning of Lies just to make me laugh. He really hated them at the beginning because her songs were 'too centered around death.' Now both of them are just hoping that I will get sick of them really really soon. My mom's favorite is October and my dad's favorite is Eternal.

My mom just saw the pics i had on my desktop and said "diabolic" and i was like NO...so she gave me crap for a few days then she stopped and now i just listen to the music really loud on purpose..but yeah she doesnt like this whole rock thing cuz she says that rock music has bad messages in its music..but it doesnt really matter what she says cuz its what i like, i dont do things to please her i do them for myself..my dad, he doesnt care i can be listening to a song in the car and he'll just be like "will you buy me that cd" lol..so yeah

hahaha my mom and freinds thought it was "a stage i was going through" lol but i think they realize its not lol.

wow Im so proud of my big thread haha (its big for me) and it's really funny seeing so many moms. In New Zealand it's spelt and said mum haha. Everyones parents seem to love My Immortal! I remember when I first got Fallen my mum read the lyrics and was like this is a bit suicidal because I had never listened to anything like it before and hse thinks I'm way too obsessed but she loves Amys voice. I think that my parents like the fact that Ev helped me through a depression, it has matured me in so many ways as well and it has made me more dedicated to my music then it I have ever been. It's so cool I'm doing My Immortal with my singing teacher (shes my piano teacher as well plus she is my new Grandma since my grandma died last year and she says that I'm like her daughter). She loves it and said I might be able to do it for a competition depending who the judge is though, she's so cool, she said that Amy made the piano accomplament really hard for herself but she said that she is really telented! It's so weird because I love all music, everything basically, a lot of classical and rock, and some pop and reggae and old school stuff so I can listen to anything that my parents put on but I will always prefer Ev!
