My mom loves Evanescence but she does get sick of it every now and then because I'm always listening to them. Me and my mom went to the Evanescence concert here when they were on tour a couple years back and she told me she loves Amy's stage presence and her voice is amazing. Lol my dad always tells me how he thinks Amy sounds like Janis Joplin...but he likes Evanescence as well.

Evanescence – my mother doesn’t like them and finds it somewhat annoying. However, it is After Forever and Epica that she often comments about as sounding satanic with all the growling considered (even though they most certainly are not). She takes quite kindly to Edenbrdige, though finds it difficult to listen to after a while. Candlemass, on the other hand, is a band that my mother despises whenever I put a CD in.

At first my mum didnt think much of them. Now its HER who is going through phases and is trying to get into what I like...which is kinda scary...
ANywho, she tries to listen to them. I'm not sure if she's really getting it, tho... My dad has never heard of and will never hear Evanescence. |

I liked that girl's voice.and sometimes when she is driving me I listen to Fallen in the car and she likes (especially My Immortal she likes it) but she doesnt want me to listen a band oftenly sometimes she says "I'm sick of this band!" well if she's in a good mood, she likes them.but I don't care about what they think

My parents really don't like them at all! My mom thinks I'm obsessed or something and my dad got mad because I was dissing on Kelly Clarkson(his fav. singer) and started making fun of them! So he doesn't like them on a count of his impression was really twisted! It doesn't change the way I love them tho.

My mom thinks they're depressing drug-addicts, that I shouldn't listen to them so constantly because I'll get depressed... yet accepts the fact that this is gonna be me for a while, so she doesn't get on my case too much.
My dad likes some of their songs, but thinks they're too depressing as much as my mom does, and wants to take my C.D away. He got a good kick out of Anywhere But Home though, so he's slightly eased up on it. Still, they hate the band and will never like it OR understand why I like it. Good news is, my mom, the woman who is caring about me and for me in this 'temporary' (Yeah right) state accepts that I am me, and is not on my rear as much as she used to me. |

Actually, my parents like some of Evanescence's material. I burned my dad a CD of songs I thought he'd like (the slower ones without the harder rock sound). He loves those songs--I might mention here that my father is 55, LOL! My mother is 40 and she likes some of the stuff, too. And they figure Amy Lee is a much better role model than Britney Spears or Paris Hilton, so they're happy enough with my little obsession.
