My parents like some songs from Evanescence. My mom likes the songs My Immortal and Breathe No More (although she did state that the latter was not a really good choice to win a talent show competition). When my dad saw the cover of the Fallen CD he was wondering about the type of music they played. I then assured him that it was not "bad" music. They're ok now with the songs but they don't like the rock ones as much. I should immerse them in it more probably...

It was a little shock for my family when they herad Evanescence for the first time. I had ordered "Fallen" and when it arrived I wasn't at home. So when I came back, they were like "What the hell?". Not because of the music, of course. I just hadn't ever shown before that I liked this kind of music. Later my mother liked the music, my brother was sick of it (I still listen to it everyday so I can understand him
) and my father...he's just making fun of me when he sees me running around the flat screaming "You want me, come find me" or something else inspired by you know who![]() |

My mom likes Evanescence.
My mom likes Evanescence. She will even sing along. She does occasionally joke about my "obsession", but she is only being sarcastic. We even have a contest that whenever we listen to Evanescence together, we always have to put Going Under on repeat. Who ever changes the song first, loses. I don't think either one of us has lost yet...
My mom even bought tickets for the upcoming October 25 concert for my birthday. She, my Gothmother, and I are going together! ![]() |

I follow your ideas, espc the second part ![]() ![]() it is quite unbelievable how some people can be so shallow and think there is something of an evil-worshiping nature in ev....ridiculously childish well, i am not really able to listen without stress to ev with my family around...and i get all kinds of lines of disapproval...some nicer, but others really threatening and insulting... but i couldn't care less....still i like to avoid it, so i listen to it kinda alone yeah, and of course except My immortal and a few like that - very few - the others get lines like "that woman is crazy/deranged"...so the good stuff - meaning more alive and fast songs - really need to be "censored"...and "do you really like this music?" and yes, i've been called crazy too, but i try taking it as a compliment ooohh, the things one would do for ev....Quote:
how shallow i read a small article on the net saying "EV saves lives"...where it said that some fans told Ev they were on the verge of suicide and their music helped them....really cool...if they see you listening to "angrier" music, they should wonder what made you or any of us choose it...and to find the problem, if there is one, prior to the music... really....and what about the whole art in the world...what percent of that was created by happiness? Last edited by Shivercide : 11-20-2007 at 09:26 AM. Reason: We don't look kindly on double posting, much less FOUR at once |

My parents couldn't give a crap. Though my Mum loves X Japan and WT, because I play them in the car. Concerning Ev, she only liked Fallen, while my sister only likes Origin, and only Anywhere and Listen to the Rain from that.

My mum is bored sick of evanescence and calls it morbid and whenever i come downstairs after listening to fallen she puts on classical music to try and make the atmosphere more happy and i'm just like "I'm leaving." in a disgusted monotone and go up to my room and listen to evanescence even more.
![]() My asshole brother thinks that evanescence is shit and whenever i watch anywhere but home he says "you're watching that shit again" (i told you he was an asshole). ![]() My dad couldn't care any less. except once when he was up in scotland working he was watching this show where two bands of different genres came together to write music or whatever and they said that evanescence was a christian band and my dad told me this then i was having a hissy fit saying evanescence wasn't a christian band so now he always winds me up saying that evanescence is a christian band. ![]() ![]()

My mom's not really a big fan of rock in general (too busy, makes her nervous, she says), but she does like My Immortal, Hello, TLSIWOY, and Good Enough, mostly because she hears them all the time (I've learned to play them on the piano). My dad will tolerate some of it, but only for very short periods. He thinks Amy's voice is monotonous and whiney.
