I am willing to bet that many of you had real "Headbanger" parents, and if you look closely thru thier collection of music you may find bands or artist's like Poison, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Genesis, The Who, Led Zepplin, etc.

So when you are asked to turn down the volume, or to vary your selection most parents know what they are talking about. There is a lot of great music out here, and by listening to different artists you can appreciate Evanescence even more.

oh and my dad loved freygang,a german rockband which was actually forbidden in ger when my dad was young because of the anachistical(????) lyrics,lol

The first day I bought Fallen my mom was like, " Let me listen to this and read the lyrics to see if it's appropiate for you" I was thinking to myself wow somebody is a little controlling. She was very weirded out about the CD but, since she found no curses she let me listen to it... (I would have listened to it anywayz but she doesn't know that) And then she's like telling me that Evanescence are "devil worshippers" and they are "goth" and the music is "headbanging music" it really made me mad the worst thing is that she thinks Evanescence is only one person, Amy

my dad is so ignorant of what I listen to and that makes me happy
and to top it all off they won't let me go to the Evanesence concert coming up because they hate the "devil worshippers" and because it's an outdoor concert.... ya know they made up every excuse in the book

it's all very unfair...

Yeah, my dad thinks it's hilarious that i like Led Zeppelin. He saw my burnt copy of the cd and started laughing. And i have a friend who likes Simon and Garfunkel, and my parents went to their concert a few months ago so it's hard for me to imagine! My dad's more into Springsteen though and i don't know anyone my age who likes him.

My mum thinks their songs sound too much the same. and i dont think she likes it that i love them so much, coz they are 'dark'. coz she thinks that im a perfect angel. she hates it when amy wears dark eye make up and dark clothes, she hates it when i listen to them all the time....

my parents LOVE simon and garfunkel too...
springsteen....hm...i think a girl in my class likes him.

when i bought my first nirvana cd my dad said sth like:so now u start to listen to good music,lol
before that i mainly listened to rap music.
i dont think my parents understand how i can listen to all these different kinds of music.

My mum absolutely hates Ev! She says it's the only band she has ever hated. Poor mum, she's missing out on so much! She didn't mind BMTL so much. In fact the other day she heard it on the radio and turned it up for me to hear without complaining about it (for a change). She's actually a metal head herself, she likes Black Sabbath and all of that. She's a pretty cool mum, apart from the fact she doesn't like Ev! THEY ROCK!

my dad is a lot more relaxed about it when i went to see them last Saturday he was jealous and said he wanted to go with me! my dad likes their music, im trying to get my mum to like it though i put my music on top volume to drum the sound into her head fingers crossed she will begin to like them!

I was playing Fallen on my surround sound when I was on the computer one day, and dad walked in. He said he had heard Bring Me to Life a lot on the radio at work and asked if the music was that band. I said yes. He said I had good taste in music and commented on how it was old fashioned rock and roll. So he pretty much likes them. Also, when my mom visited, she was cleaning my hair, and I played the album. She called it pretty and commented on Amy's amazing voice. She bought the album a few weeks ago.
