well my dad doesn't mind and neither did my mom.
My mom actually liked some of their songd i was shocked no where near her music.

I think most people don't really like a certin type of music, or at
least they thought they didn't, but hearing it you can grow a taste
for it, and end up enjoying it more.
I have done that so many times, with different kinds of music.
It just grows on a person!

I still try to say I only like rock and Alternative but that is suck a lie.

My BROTHER thinks that they're lazy and it's easy to make there songs. Only cause he's a queer and listens to classical music and video game music

When I first started listening to Evanescence, I think my mom was a little worried, because it was obviously darker than the other music I listened to at the time. But then she just realized that my musical tastes were changing and I wasn't listening to plain crap anymore. I was listening to music with substance. She's OK with all the music I listen to now.

I'm not sure how she feels about them in general, though. She's most likely just indifferent.

My nephew in Atlanta plays the drums, and he also has ADD.
He has learned to play a couple of songs from Evanescence just
all by ear.
I find that amazing, he is so musically smart.
Thats better then what I can do, and there is like a 23 years difference
between him and I.
I can't wait to watch him play, when I get there!!

I think my mom likes all the songs except for Tourniquet, she's afraid that song gives me "ideas"

. My dad doesn't mind it, he just doesn't like screaming or growling in heavy metal even though 90% of what I listen has screaming in it. The only one who REALLY hates Evanescence is my older sister, she thinks it's raunchy but then again she listens to Cannibal Corpse so she's pretty much just being her usual hypocrite self

For sure! "Tourniquet," at least the way I take it, is about the dilemma that a Christian person faces when they're seriously suicidal. And yes, the word "raping" is in "Haunted," but since when does that make it raunchy? LOL.

When your sister brings up Evanescence's "raunchiness" again, just say something along the lines of, "At least they're not singing about fucking someone with a knife."

That might shut her up.
