Ah, no one mentioned .hack//SIGN. That's by far the best one, story wise. Unless you're into flashy violence, underage schoolgirl sex, and big robots. Then it kinda sucks. But story-wise, and the fact the whole thing is eye/ear candy... it's in a higher class than anything else I've seen. All other anime is silly to me. ;)

Anime I've checked out but couldn't get into (so you can officially rule out my crazy opinion as madness) Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, Final Fantasy Unlimited, Noir, Earth Girl Arjuna, and maybe another one, I can't remember.

And I don't know enough about Amy to even begin to guess her preference. I hope she answers you, though.

No wonder nothing compares to .hack//SIGN to you, because you need to get your hands on some better anime! Witch Hunter Robin is a spectacular show, which goes far beyond what you see in each episode. They have done fair amount of research for alof othe topics in the show, and they appear to present it in a truthful manner without bending it to fit their story line.

As much as I can't stand the animation style (nor some of the repeated scenes), Utena isn't that bad, it has a fairly decent story line, and it isn't all about action, senseless blood-lust and boobies potrayed over the screen (that's why I like Love Hina & Hand Maid May :P...).

Try a few anime movies as well, pretty much anything by Ghibli Films are pretty good, Mononoke Hime just plain rocks! There's alot of decent anime, so don't judge the rest of the genre as silly and not of a 'high' class. You can hardly make a judgement by watching a select few shows.

And as for that tatu anime, its just going to end up being like the "All the things she said" film clip over and over again, and then in two months time they will release the hentai version. ^_^

I really like Tenchi. Also alot of old kids stuff - unico, the sea prince and the fire child, totoro. i thought spirited away was awesome. theres more but its mostly just a few random things, i dont have time to make it a hobby
