Wildangel's Art
Here are some things I have done in photoshop, mixed media, pen and ink, pencil, tempra, pastel, acrylic, and watercolor. Hope you like them.
Karen __________________________________________________ ________ This first picture is one I did in photoshop. I used a screen capture from the "Everybody's Fool" video. I totally fell in love with Amy's expression. I used the levels control to lighten the picture up a little bit and sharpened the image. After that i used a watercolor filter I believe. It's been a while since I created it that I don't remember for sure. My main goal was to use it for an avatar. ![]() __________________________________________________ _ This next picture is also a picture of Amy. It is from the video "Broken". I was experimenting with some filters in photoshop and this is what I ended up with. ![]() __________________________________________________ ______ There was a photoshop colorization contest that someone on Evboard started. He listed some pictures for the contest. I chose this one. The steps I took to colorize a black and white picture in Photoshop were fairly easy. I converted the picture to CMYK. I prefer CMYK over RGB. It's easier to control. Anyhow, after the conversion, I adjusted the levels to a normal looking black and white picture with strong blacks and whites. After that, I chose what I wanted to color first. I would select the area to color, make a quick mask then apply a guassin blur of about 2.0 pixels. Give or take depending on the size and detail of the area. Then i would turn off the quick mask and go to the adjustment layers option and select curves. This is where I would add and adjust my colors. I would repeat this for each differently colored section. The hardest part was the hair. I ended up cropping amy's body out of the picture and copying the hair in it's own window of all white where the only color was the hair. I then colored the hair the same way as I colored the other things in the picture. then I selected all the white parts and all the similar white parts. then selected the inverse. I copied the hair, then pasted it into my piece with Amy in it. It seemed to turn out ok. ![]() __________________________________________________ _____________ This was also for a recolorizaion contest on EvBoard. I ended up making a pencil sketch out of it then just colorizing a little here and there. Same way as I did in the above photo. __________________________________________________ ____________Same explination as above. For a photoshop recoloring contest. ![]() __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ____________________ This was for a contest on Worth1000.com. I love the website. It was my first try at coloring pictures. This was before I knew about the quickmask option. It makes the picture so much better to use it. Anyhow. This was a first attempt. I left the hair uncolored on purpose. ![]() __________________________________________________ This was for another contest on worth1000.com. I liked the effect of the colors. This was also before I knew about the quickmask option. I wasn't to o happy about the color the lil boy turned out as, but i did like how vivid the colors are. ![]() __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ____________________ This picture is an acrylic painting. This was an assignment in college. I'm not very good with painting, and acrylic dries way too fast. So I got this wonderful white gel type stuff to put in the paint and it made it work a bit more like oils. ![]() __________________________________________________ ______ For this painting, we were to chose an artist and do their picture in the complimentary colors of the origional. I chose Dali. He is one of my favorite artists. I love abstract work. I used the same materials as I did in the picture above. ![]() __________________________________________________ ________ This was a painting I did in high school. I used oils. During that time I was really into south west art. So the idea was looking out of the opening of a cave and seeing the outside. Tho the opening was shaped as a wolf. It didn't turn out as well as I would have hoped. ![]() _________________________________________________ This was an assignment from college. This was a color wheel assignment. The first picture was done with secondary colors, the second picture was done in primary colors, and the third one was done with variations of one color. This was done with tempra paints. ![]() ![]() ![]() _____________________________________________ This was a watercolor assignment. ![]() __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ____________________ I was bored in class. I had a fine lined felt tip pen and a paintbrush sitting in front of me. The teacher was talking about painting and my mind was wandering. This is what I came up with. ![]() __________________________________________________ _____ This was a pen and ink drawing. We were working on a still life. My biggest problem were the folds in the cloth that everything was sitting on. I wasn't very good at values at that time. ![]() __________________________________________________ __________ This was a pen drawing. I was just goofing around with shapes. This is what I came up with. Very abstract. ![]() __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _____________________ I got a disney story book. So I decided to see if I could draw any of the characters. These are pencil sketches from that book. ![]() __________________________________________________ ______ A pencil drawing I did for a class to work on value and shading. I need alot of work from the way this picture looks. ![]() __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _____________________ This was an assignment from graphics class. It was a linolium block cut. The teacher gave us a poem and had us make a picture from it. The hardest part was keeping from slicing my hand with the cutter. And getting a good print. ![]() __________________________________________________ ___ This is a picture of a linolium blck that I cut for graphics class. below are the prints. We used printing ink. very sticky stuff and hard to get off of things. ![]() ![]() __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _____________________ ![]() ![]() Last edited by Wildangel : 07-26-2007 at 09:04 PM. I really, really like the second Amy picture. It has a very cool effect to it. Especially her eyes, they're just...wow.
I like the fourth Amy picture too, the way it looks a bit like a painting. I hope to be seeing more of your stuff! ![]() |

Yeah, I just did that one a few days ago. I used a few different filters on it. I would love to do this as a painting or maybe a color pencil/color ink media, but Time doesn't allot for that at the moment.
I also created another one that kinda made her look ghostly, but the darn program froze up before I could save it. __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _____________________ ![]() ![]() Last edited by Wildangel : 07-27-2005 at 03:47 PM. |
