Little late to the party here...

First off, I ran into Rocky today. No new bass player as of yet.

Like I said, late to the party, but I really needed to respond to this. I'm female. I play bass...and piano...and cello...and violin. Mostly bass. Hilariously enough, while the bass is on the heavy side, I'm not some dainty little thing that will blow away in a mild breeze. I've played so hard I've torn off strings. More than once. Even the B string (I play a 5-string...The B string is pretty thick). Granted, there aren't many prominent female bassists right now. People like me are trying to change that. While I enjoy playing piano, bass is my passion. I can probably rock it harder than a lot of guys out there, too. A lot of people on this board have seen me play...haha. Just because something doesn't make sense to you, it doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. I can play basslines for lots of different styles of music. Including Evanescence.

Besides, in case you didn't get the memo, Sexism is so 1957. Tolerance is the new chic. Embrace it, live it, learn it, know it. Otherwise some girl might kick your ass.
