I just watched the opening ceremony and as always I'm left thinking "WTF?" Ahh, it's all brilliant!

And why the 80's music when the sportsmen and women were coming out?

I love the winter olympics. All of it.

Well ,that was a FANTASTIC ceremony. Very Italian, very sophisticated... and Pavarotti... ahhh

What events are there gonna be showing?
I think BBC2 is going to cover them all , but I am not sure. They will definately show curling... Team GB has chances there, Figure Skating because it's beautiful and popular sport for many (+ Dancing on Ice show raised some interest) and Alpine Ski I think, just because it's cool. These are definate ones. The rest are up to BBC bosses.

I would really like to see Nordic sking. I like all those races.

I live hockey, but it will be painful for me to watch it as my team (Russia) are doomed.

though I don't have high hopes I will be depressed if they lose.

Feisty is on a distinguished road
I'm excited for the Opening Ceremony however, I enjoy watching the Summer games more.

The opening ceremonies were AMAZING!!! Except for the commercials and the commentators (who don't know how to shuttup) I thought it was very very well done. "Abstract" things like that always leave me thinking "ooooo!!!! wowwww!!!". The music was very cool too. I wish I was there, just so I could get pumped from the music.

I have a question for you all... I looked online for the official playlist of all the songs they had (including the specially composed songs as well as all the 80's songs), but all I could find was the name of the composer for the songs during the dances and stuff. Does anyone know where I can find out what the songs were that were playing during the Parade of the Athletes? Or maybe a sample playlist (like they have on Amazon.com for things) of ALL the songs they had that I can listen to? I am a big fan of music and I heard some cool songs in there- shame I don't know what they are.

Yeah, that guy is really something))

My aunt is a big fan of biathlon, she'll be watching it in the first place. As for me, I like figure-skating. No surprise))

I only managed to catch a couple of events (I think they were to qualify for the actual thing though, but interesting all the same) I saw the womens freestyle (I think it was moguls, not the aerial) and the mens luge. I predict a canadian win for the womens freestyle, just call it a feeling (and a canadian came first in the qualifier .)
