I was just on the official Within Temptation forum, where it was mentioned that the band are releasing "All I Need" as an American single, and are filming the video for it soon. I don't think it has been officially announced yet. I always thought they released the same singles worldwide, but in a different order.

"Jeroen told me in boston that the next single is All I need. They're doing a video for it soon. After that he doesn't know yet."

Even if it's not true, it gives us something to talk about!! Personally, I'm not sure if AIN would be a good single choice.

NO WAY!!! Ooooh I wonder what the video will be like??? I hope this news is true!!! My only worry is that those ignorant Ev fans will start claiming its a copy of My Immortal or Good Enough or something. I'm sick of not being able to go onto a Within Temptation/Nightwish/Epica video without seeing some annoying fan bleating on about how those bands "stole" Ev's sound. *is confused* Symphonic Metal and Alt Rock...was I asleep when people decided they were the same genre?? One journalist actually said that Evanescence inspired After Forever!! No wonder those weird Ev fans are so misinformed.

Whoops, that went off-topic. All I Need...new single... It's hard to think of a video without stepping on the Memories one... umm..maybe a city and it's an epic love story smoooshed into 4 minutes 51 seconds??

Personally I think its a great American single. Besides WHYD, it has the most potential to be commercial. It might just be my biased opinion because I <3 All I Need. It doesnt sound anything like GE, or MI (that's why I'm glad they didnt pick Forgiven-- that sounds alot closer to GE or MI) But, I wonder what the European single is going to be?

Okay, so...Friday was pretty much the most amazing day of my life.

Long story short - we met everyone except Stephen before the show and took pictures. Played Uno while we waited, I won, wheeee. And BS, won that too. Whee again! Talked to a guy named Orman (like Arman) who everyone called Crazy who's part of their touring crew...and you will learn why that's important later.

The show was....AAAAAMAAAZING. WT is officially THE best band I've seen live...ever. Beats out every Ev show I've gone to, Seether, Audioslave, Shinedown...everyone. I was dead center, and made eye contact with Sharon and Ruud (haha I love how Ruud makes faces and winks at us). Sharon = most amazing person ever. And wins the Sweetheart and Cutest Person of the Year awards. I nearly passed out from dehydration and lack of air (omf it was hoooot in there), and before the encore, Jeroen handed me a bottle of water from the stage. So he saved me. Yay!

Afterwards, TheLady got a setlist, which she gave to me, and a pick, which we gave to Broken Rebel, and a drumstick. The bar area had FREE WATER in pitchers for us...omg I love that venue now JUST for that (though it really is an awesome place to see concerts in).

Then...we're hanging out waiting for everyone to meet up and we run into Crazy again. And he handed me two backstage passes to the VIP area...mainly because of my friend Eric (who is almost completely blind), but I nearly died. TheLady took one because we figured that Eric being with me would not need his own pass (which was true), but the security people were way cool and let all of us up anyway. So about five or six of us got up on two passes. And so...we chilled. With the band. For like...an hour. Got signatures, but mostly chatted and chilled and they <333 us. I asked Ruud how to pronounce the word for 'encore' on the setlist and when I repeated it, he got this shocked expression on his face because I had pronounced it exactly right and did the guttural g sound they have. Apparently Americans don't do that much lol. And I kept mixing up Martijn and Ruud because Martijn cut his hair (AGAIN) and now it looks just like Ruud's. I apologized about six times when I did it the second time. He's really funny though and he didn't mind.

Sharon is the sweetest person on the planet. And I got up my courage and hugged Jeroen (because he talked with me and Jo for a good 15 or 20 minutes or so) and Sharon. Yay!

So...yeah. Most amazing concert experience of my entire life. oooh man. I'm in a very happy place right now.

I pray with you....I think they have chosen AIN because "it's time for a ballad now" (just in case, remembering this info is not official yet)..I mean, like you said, it's commercially able to be an american single...but I'm not sure 'bout this song as the best choice by the moment neither (is not my fav ballad).

i love all i need, and yes i can see a epic love story in an old ancient city setting. and of course as an epic something will go wrong. i think it would be a strong release well as strong as WT can be as they aren't all that predominant. the only song release i have seen in australia of theirs was WHYD and that was only once. the only cds of theirs i have found with extreme searching is HE and TSF. and i love both cds would love to find ME but unfortunately no luck.
