Question Working for living or living for working ?

Many people works too much just to get more money or just to find an escape of the reality. I'm very curious about what do you think, because it makes me think that again the money is the main reason.

If I didn't need money for things (i.e. bills/life), there's no chance in hell I would work. I ONLY work for the paycheck.

I work because I need the money. Like Jane, if I had enough money to never work again, then I'd possibly quit working, but at the same time, I love my job, so I'd probably continue working, just not as much.

You cant walk away from a job you love, IMO.

I would prefer to be working for myself, though.

To me a job is a job.

If I'm doing something I love, then it isn't work and it's not a job.

If I had tons of money, I'd probably write, do art, take music lessons, travel, learn how to work on cars, learn more languages, ride rollercoasters, etc. etc. etc. I'd just do a whole lot of pointless shit that I had an interest in. None of that is work though.

I've done many jobs in my life, some I liked, some I did not. Now I drive a truck, not a semi but a 15 ft truck around Colorado. The best part is I can have all the music I love with me on my MP3 player. HA!, I'm known as the music man at some of my stops as I pull in with my tunes playing loud.
I got many started with the bands I listen to, Evanescence, Within Temptation, Arcade Fire, and Tori Amos. It makes my day when someone comes to me and starts talking of one of my fave bands, and that I, a 61 year old man, got them started with them.
All in my days work.HA! Love it!!

It's curious that you mention that, because that's kind of what first got me motivated to get a job, even when still at college. I used to get so stressed out and depressed, looking at myself and thinking "why the hell am I not doing anything productie? Why am I not producing any money?". Which just made me feel so bad that I just felt that I just had to get out there and get something to do with my life.

Now I can say that I'm doing something that I love, and it feels great!

I totaly agree with that! Even while im in college i HAVE TO WORK. If i dont i feel useless and lazy. And i dont like that. I always need a job, when i dont have one, i go insane! I just absolutely love to work. I love my job, I dont know what i would do without it

Great minds think alike.

I LOVE my jobs. I have the most amazing co-workers, we laugh, joke around and act goofy together.

Without my jobs, I'd go insane.

It was like that even when I worked at idlewild. Even though I hated the people I worked with, I enjoyed interacting with the guests. That's the only reason I stayed there for like 4 years..xD Plus, if I didn't have a summer job...what else would I do in my spare time?!
