Worst cover songs
Much as I love Metallica's Garage, Inc. I can't think of any "best" cover songs.

So, how about the worst? (So sue me, I'm a pessimist.)

Number One: American Badass by Kid Rock
He took a classic and destroyed it. And the sad part is most of the little kiddies who watch TRL didn't even know it was a "cover". I am still pissed about this abomination and I made a blood oath (seriously) that if I ever see Kid Rock, I'll punch him in his F*@$in jaw.

other bad covers:

Seal-Fly Like an Eagle
Madonna-American Pie (ughhhh)
Sheryl Crow-Sweet Child O Mine
Jay-Z covers that song from Annie
Let's see. How about rap in general.

Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit did a lot of horrible covers in their day of just about any good song out there.

I must say AFI's cover of Just Like Heaven makes me die inside a little more every time I hear it. Anyone covering The Cure, actually, except Voltaire's cover of Lovesong is okay.
