Copyright and stuff. More about the rights of the labels and the copyrights. Many videos with personal images or with pics and a differents audio you can't watch them because of the labels are owners of the official videos.

If you want to dedicate a video with pics of you and your family with an audio of your fave song, you can't. This is applied to the official videos, live performances, tv shows,etc......

The question is: The labels are killing their own artists or is it just a thing of business and marketing ? Do they know that is so much easy to know their artists watching a video tahn to buy the albums ?

I can not make any kind of sense out of what you're trying to ask. Are you saying that people are trying to use artist's music, videos, and images and trying to pass it off as their own, or the fact that people are massively putting out other artist's work across the internet without permission, or what exactly are you asking?

Does anyone else have trouble understanding exactly what she's trying to say?

I think I know what Cata is saying. Lets say you have made a video and put it on youtube, and want to have a song as background and you want to use an Ev song. Well, apparently you are not allowed to do that as the songs are copywritten and if youtube see such videos they get deleted. It is impossible to ask the artist for permission to use the song as your background music, so all the videos are expected to be with no sound because of the copywrite. I have heard of a number of people who made videos and put a song to them, but their videos were removed by youtube for breach of coywrite.

Was credit given to the artist or the record company or the writer of the song?

And what is the debatable issue at hand? Or even the point of discussion?

Most videos have credits at the end of the clip where the artist is credited, not sure about the record company.

The discussion is whether or not people can post videos on youtube, credit them and have them removed because the poster hasn't sought 'permission'?

Yes, there are laws about that.

That's why a competition like American Idol has to actually go out of its way before the season airs to go to all these artists and get permission to show auditions of people singing their songs. If they can't get permission, that audition just won't air.

Most of the things taken down are done because YouTube is a free service, I'm sure YT makes a lot of money, but they don't make profit from your average joe user putting videos up. They make it from sponsors. Much like TV networks make money from commercials. YouTube is essentially covering their asses as well as everyone elses in case someone like...I dunno, Madonna (who is the queen of being a greedy bitch) gets in a hissy fit because AmyReewuver5195127501927 used her song in a video that portrayed some type of Anti-Kablahblah message, or someone used a Metallica song and one of their lawyers decided they want to make a pretty penny. The truth is, most successful artists appreciate fan-works, but there are a few who get their undies in a bunch because someone is violating a copyright law that no one really gives a shit about.


But either way, it's the universal law. Deal with it.

Think of it as YT encouraging people to be more original.

I guess that now if i want to watch a video of Ev live, i can't though, it's an example. I was trying to watch Paramore, a live performance of a tv show and i couldn't, that's the "infringement" of the copyright.

In order for _____ to appear live; money is shelled out.

It's unfair for person A to pay to see ____ live, but you get it free.

It's life, it's no different than it was 10 years ago.
