Agreed! Those songs you mentioned would be soooo awesome live. They have such awesome guitars and drums and they are faster songs. Let's all hope that they play the majority of TOD and the hits from Fallen on their larger tour next year sometime.

I have finally started to like this song. At first, I really hated it because I couldn't find something that stood out to me. Now, as I have listened to it more and more, I notice more parts jumping out at me everytime, especially the sound of the music, the lyrics, and the tone and emotion of the song.

Did anyone catch in the lyrics in the book attached to The Open Door's case is missin the entire last part? It doesn't list "Yeah, nothing worth fighting for" or anything after. Was this intentional? Sorry I didn't read the whole thread to see if someone caught it, but if someone did, sorry again lol.

There are quite a few mistakes in the lyrics in TOD booklet, Codyy. Bleugh to the publishers!
I really like the story behind Your Star. The sense of frustration and loneliness and emptiness kind of echoes 'Away From Me,' only with a more mature and cynical sound. This song is perhaps the most atmospheric in the album, after Snow White Queen. It's perfect to listen to lying in the dark in your bedroom. The long cresendo when Amy sings 'Star...' is so beautiful. You can almost imagine her leaning out of her hotel window. As a few people have mentioned, the way she sings 'death of today' is truly chilling. I must say, I really like the odd, eerie jazzy-ness of the chorus. The hums in the background are unsettling. My favourite thing is the way Amy sings 'parts and pieces,' particularly in the quiet chorus before the music swells up again. I didn't expect the choir in here. They're a lot of fun. ![]() |

Great song! Excellent replace for the Whisper as the conclusion of the concert. Now Your Star is a bit special for me, because of feelings you have at the end of the show. It's like a "Goodbye" from a friend.

Has anyone noticed how the first 'star' that Amy sings sounds unedited (it doesn't have that echo-ey, stretched feel), but the rest do?
It's really strange like maybe they forgot to change it, but sometimes it can really bug me.

...I had no idea that line existed. I asked a friend, and she didn't recognise it either. And trying to explain where it is was difficult: "It's that part where she sings something unintelligible. Ha! That's the entire album."
Well, I'll just add it to the ever growing collection of "oh, so THAT'S what she's saying"s. It joins 'no light to lead the way' 'so afraid to open your eyes, hypnotised' 'are you still too weak to survive your mistakes' and 'it's so clear'. ![]()
