One of my all time favorites
The emotion just penetrates through you, it's a very powerful song

I didn't like this song at first, but then again I didn't like most of the album when I first heard it. The whole album has been kinda like an acquired taste for me.
Then I heard this song live and it has grown in me. The best live performance was at Zepp, Tokyo 2007. If you haven't heard it, I strongly suggest that you do. ![]() Btw, the best part is the ending, they changed it in the live performances and it is just awesome. |

As I just said in another thread, whenever I listen to this song I began to weep, it's so beautiful and it reminds me a very painful times when I felt abandoned

I wish Your Star or The Only One would/could have been a single. I'm not sure they'd work commercially (TOO might have) but I think they video's could have been AMAZING for them.
They are both my top 2 songs from TOD and I hope the next album's got more songs with a similar sound.

I really like the lyrics to this song. I like the intro, but when she's like "and i'm alone now.." i hate the music. then it picks up again when its all heavy and goes back to "i can't see your star.." I really like the lyrics though.

I love this song so much. My very favorite part is when she sings "Though I patiently waited, bedside, for the death of today" but when she sings the "your stars" it's very cool as well. But then the whole song is cool...

Love love love this song. It's so good. Like I can't even describe it. The quick piano solo part is my favourite...but the lyrics are insane...the best part is "Find your own way out" because it's so, so true. No matter what shit happens in life, you just can't rely on other people to come save you from whatever it is. If you need help, you've gotta ask for it. If you want to leave, no one is going to force you, you have to take the steps yourself. I've been basically living off that phrase before I even heard it, and when I heard it, I was like... OMG.
Favourite Evanescence song without a doubt!! |
