Just stating facts, not my opinion. At all.

And Lisbon could be totally metaphorical too - who knows?
Amy & Shaun broke up the end of August in 2005.

And yeah, I agree about the metaphor. I was like wtf, when I heard it at first. Then I heard the rumor that it was about her being at Terry's bedside when he was in the hospital, so I thought that it could have been the lights of the machines in the room.

I also had to make my own version of the song, which I have dubbed the "Starless Remix". That "Your Sttttaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrr" part really annoyed me, so I edited it out

That Starless Remix might just be what I need. I mean, gosh, did Amy not realize that was going to be annoying? Maybe it's just to get the listener's attention, but to be honest, I have to fast forward through it because it's just so piercing, and not in a good way.

I don't buy that this song is about Terry, though. Besides the word "bedside," which is clearly a reference to waiting for the sun to go down so one can see the stars, not a reference to a hospital bed that I can tell, what does this song have to do with Terry? Does he need to "find his own way out"? I think not.

Guess I'm one of the few, but I actually like the "I can't see your staaaaaar" part at the beginning. I also like the back-up vocals for it [or maybe I like that part because of the back-up vocals]. Something like that.

I don't really like the introduction to this song. The beginning bit bores me slightly, and I can't listen to it that well, I have to skip it.

The rest of the song is good though. Wasn't keen on the use of the organ, but I love the second verse when the guitar kicks in. Some great lyrics in this song too.

I like the intro, and the "Your Star" bit, it's something I can actually put up with and go through, which surprised myself.

I like it too. I don't know why some of you say it's annoying. It sounds really good to me .
This if one of my favorites song in the whole album, maybe the number 2

I like the song in its entirety. The piano bit in the middle amazes me all the time.

It IS about Terry, Amy said it herself in a VH1 interview about each song on the album. Here it is,

Quote:
"Your Star"
The jet-propelled coda was inspired by Terry Balsamo's Pantera fixation.
A couple of years ago, I felt so alone that I was dreading going on tour. We had just arrived in Lisbon and I was in my room feeling jet-lagged, weird and tired. I had just been home where I could see the stars at night. But when I looked out the hotel window in Lisbon, I couldn't see anything because we were in this big city. That was the last straw. I felt so depressed, I just started singing this song
