Your Star
The Open Door, track #11
Written by: Amy Lee and Terry Balsamo The piano is the principal instrument for this song. It displays the maturity of the band’s new sound. The choir once again appears, causing the end of the song to be really epic. Credit for translation goes to julie. From ToD News thread. --- Quote:
----------- YOUR STAR I can't see your star I can't see your star though I patiently waited, bedside, for the death of today I can't see your star the mechanical lights of Lisbon frightened it away and I'm alone now me and all I stood for we're wandering now all in parts in pieces, swim lonely find your own way out I can't see your star I can't see your star how can the darkness feel so wrong? and I'm alone now me and all I stood for we're wandering now all in parts in pieces, swim lonely find your own way out So far away its growing colder without your love why can't you feel me calling your name? can't break the silence its breaking me all my fears turn to rage and I'm alone now me and all I stood for we're wandering now all in parts and pieces, swim lonely find your own way out yeah...nothing worth fighting for we're wandering now all in parts and pieces, swim lonely find your own way out Last edited by mercury_amy : 10-03-2006 at 12:03 AM. |

Why, oh WHY do I keep getting "Lucky Star" by Madonna stuck in my head when I think of this song?
I sense a theme of loneliness, not just with this song, but with others as well.

I think that this is one of the best, if not the best song on this album. Everything about it is truly excellent. It has one of the strongest melodies, though a lot of the other songs are really up there as well when it comes to that. The choir kicks in at the perfect time, ah! and it's so beautiful. There's really something amazing about this line:
